You ever read a Bible story only to come across it again and something stand out that never stood out before? Happened to me before and just now! For example: Reading the story of Moses, it all of a sudden dawned on me that as Moses' mother placed him along the reeds in the river, not only did she have a massive amount of faith to do that, but she probably thought this was the last time she was ever going to see her child again. Do I know that she thought that way? No. That beautiful little baby who had stole her heart, who was ordered to be killed if found, would be placed in a basket with the hopes of floating somewhere safe. Faith? Oh yes. I believe Jochebed was no fool to the dangers of the Nile River. The Egyptians used the Nile for everything and so did the crocodiles. The crocodiles nested along the banks of the Nile, so you can imagine what I would be thinking if I step foot along those banks, let alone let my newborn float away in a basket down "the valley" waters! Massive faith! Massive faith allowed Jochebed to gently push that basket she had woven down those infamously dangerous waters with the hopes that God would save her child. Did she know he was going to float to Pharaoh's daughter? Were they close enough to her palace to do that? I don't know. Miriam was on the sidelines watching the entire time so hopefully, that shows some signs of hope, BUT, the same God who had closed the mouths of lions for Daniel, closed the mouths of those crocodiles or even probably told them to skidaddle while that baby came through! God is the only One who can command an animal without a word spoken. Isn't that amazing? God can sometimes call us to do something so extreme that it would take a faith that only God can provide, to get it done. Wow.
